Tuffaloy TA-25 male cap electrode (MA25 equivalent), Quantity = 5

Male caps, paired with female shanks, are a good alternative to traditional one-piece standard electrodes.  The cap/shank combination allows a higher-volume weld shop to replace just the end of the electrode and not the whole piece.  This has numerous advantages including lower replacement cost, fast changeover, and more easily maintaining your electrode profile (by changing tips more regularly).  The TA-25 is the Tuffaloy equivalent to the ubiquitous MA25 from CMW.  

Pro tip:  Male caps and female shanks are often chosen for optimum water cooling.  They are the most common in floor-standing, pedestal-style spot welders.  The downside is that you must turn your water off before removing the cap.  Female caps and male shanks allow you to change caps without turning off the water cooling (but the female caps don't cool as well).  

RWMA class 2 (C18200) material; copper chromium alloy recommended for spot welding hot or cold rolled steel, galvanized and coated materials.
